Accidents - Air 1968: 'Go Slow' Plane in death Plunge. A French plane crashed in a ball of fire on Friday 20th September 1968 while giving a one-engine flying display at the Farnborough, Hants, air show. Five crew and a ground staff fitter were killed. The 43 ton plane, a twin-engined Breguet Atlantic used for marine reconnaissance, was making a tight turn at about 140mph while 150 feet to 200 feet above the runway. September 1968 P004384
