Albert Hall, New Year's eve, Chelsea Arts Ball, Bromley, Stanley Coleman
Fashion 1920's: Students of Bromley (Kent) School of Art will stage a fashion display for visitors to the Chelsea Arts Ball at the Albert Hall on New Year's eve. But the fashions will not be the fashions of the present day - they will be the fashions of 1928, the days of short skirts, no waists and beehive hats. After much research, the students have managed to unearth dresses of the period, under the guidence of fashion artist Stanley Coleman and dres designer Bernard Cassell. Dressed in the fashions of 1928, the girls take up their position on the float which will parade them round the Albert Hall. December 1947 P008639
