Ann Robertson - alleged rape victim - pictured outside court as she delivers a letter of complaint to Lord Hamilton regarding the treatment she received from Sheriff Roger Craik February 2009.Supermarket worker Ann had broken down under the pressure of giving evidence against the man she claimed abused her as a child. She ran from the court in tears and later objected to defence questioning about her personal life. However, Sheriff Roger Craik ordered her to be locked up overnight in police cells, an experience she describes as appalling and humiliating. The man Ann accused, her uncle George Cummings, was convicted of sex offences involving two other girls. He is awaiting sentence. But the charges involving Ann were dropped during the trial and she now regrets reporting her rape claims.
