Blue Train, Beaufort
It's the 1830 equivalent of the Blue Train, a travelling and sleeping coach used by the then Duke of Beaufort for making the Grand Tour of the Continent. The gent with with the outsize flashlamp (one candlepower) isn't a Peeping Tom. He's the courier, or guide - and he has to be content to sleep sitting up, in a sort of third-class compartment in the rear. August 1948 P017682
