Unce Sam's in Crwys Road, Cathays, Cardiff. *The Echo can today reveal the reasons why 11 food premises in Cardiff scored zero in new food hygiene ratings compiled by the Food Standards Agency (FSA). The rock-bottom ratings were handed out after inspections by Cardiff council food safety officers since October and reveal habitual bad practice that could potentially lead to contamination. They were part of a new rating system introduced by the council in partnership with the FSA, which now scores any business serving food between zero and five. Businesses scoring five are said to have very good food hygiene. Zero-rated businesses are branded as requiring urgent improvement though they are said not to pose an imminent threat to public health. 9th, March, 2011.
