The pleasure boat Marchioness sank after being hit by the dredger Bowbelle on the River Thames in the early hours of 20th August 1989. The 131 people on board including crew and waiters, were attending a private party to celebrate the 26th birthday of Antonio de Vasconcellos.Picture shows: The wreckage of the Marchioness on the River Thames, 21st August 1989.
