Members of K Company of the Royal Marine 42 Commando seen here exchanging fire with the Taliban on " The Hill" near Nowzad the most remote, battle-scarred NATO outpost in Afghanistan's volatile Helmand Province. It is virtually surrounded by Taliban-loyal fighters and villages. It is situated 50 miles away from Camp Bastion, the UK forces' main headquarters. Intelligence suggests that the 120-strong Taliban army here has been reinforced by Pakistani jihadists wanting to martyr themselves against the British. November 2006 "
