On 20 November 1964 The Glad Rag Ball, organised by London University took place at the Empire Pool, Wembley, London. The show started at 9 pm and finished at 7 am with 7,000 people turning up in all kinds of clothing. The show was hosted by Jimmy Savile and featured The Rolling Stones, Animals, Long John Baldry, Susan Maughan, Lorne Lesley, Ginger Johnson & his African Drummers and Humphrey Lyttelton.
