Dior, London boutique, twenty years, eighteen inches
Women's fashions have come a long way in the past twenty years. About eighteen inches in fact. Cynics who have been wondering where it's all leading to have their answer in this picture. In a word. Upwards. On the right is an original 1947 Dior outfit - known at the time as the New Look". On the left is Dior's Newer Look - from their 1967 collection. The old and the (mini) new were shown together on Tuesday (4-4-67) at a fashion show for mothers and daughters at Dior's London boutique. One interesting thought: If Dior hold a similar show in twenty years' time, where will the hemline of the 1987 outfit be? Not much higher than this mini-colette, that's for sure. April 1967 P017549"
