Two of the crew Bulgaria and Finland have climbed on to the planes wing and are ready to bail out.5th March 1944As the Germans prepared to invade Russia, Finland began to co-operate with them and participated in the siege of Leningrad against the Russian defenders. In June 1944 the Russians again attacked Finland, which was assisted by Germany to defend herself. Russia failed again and peace was agreed on condition that Finland expel the German troops from Lapland, which they duly did. Bulgaria aligned itself with the Axis powers and occupied parts of Greece and Yugoslavia, until in 1944 it was invaded by Russia. This enabled the Bulgarian Communists to seize power, and they turned the Bulgarian forces against Germany.
