General Ghulam Hassan, Afghanistan, Mujahedin, Charikar, 13 years
Afghanistan November 2001Self-Proclaimed 'King of the Afghan Land-Mine ' General Ghulam Hassan, who over 13 years has layed over 10,000 land-mines which have been responsible for over 1,000 deaths. The General, who lost his left eye in a land-mine accident, layed mines for both Mujahedin and then Northern Alliance campaigns. He is pictured holding two Soviet anti-personnel mines on a property in Charikar, with the results of some of his work behind him.
