Hitlers is seen here with the grim reaper dragging Germany to her destruction.In May 1939 Italy under Benito Mussolini had thrown its weight behind Hitler by agreeing the ????Pact of Steel????. This was followed by Russia agreeing a pact of non-aggression with Germany in August. Hitler believed that Germany was now unbeatable and that Britain would not act if he invaded Poland. His tanks rolled into Poland on 1st September 1939. On 3rd September Britain declared war with on Germany.
