South African musician, Hugh Masakela, holds his trumpet for a portrait taken in Los Angeles in the mid-1960's by Barry Feinstein. Primarily a jazz musican, Massakela is know to rock and roll fans for his solo in the Byrds' "So You Want to be a Rock and Roll Star" and his appearance with them at the Monterey Pop Festival.
