Airliner Crashes on London Homes - Seven Dead: Seven people were killed today (2-9-58) when a Viking airliner crashed into a row of houses in Southall, Middlesex. Among the dead were a mother of five and her three week old baby. The plane, belonging to Independent Air Travel, took off from fog-bound London Airport for Nice at 6.45 this morning. Forty minutes later it hit the payment of the cul-de-sac of council houses in Kelvin Gardens, ploughed through the front of the houses, and burst into flames in the back gardens. The tail unit of the wrecked Viking sprawls across a garden. The house in the background narrowly escaped damage. September 1958 P003931
