A Cabbie's Christmas spirit was dashed after council officials objected to fairy lights and a miniature tree in his taxi. Steve Keogh and a couple of other drivers had the bright idea of joining Liverpool's city centre lighting extravaganza by improving the look of their dour black cabs.We fitted the lights up ourselves and bought the little nine inch high trees as centrepieces . They are well out of the way of the passenger accommodation and don't affect my view driving" saiid Peter.But Liverpool City Council Hackney Carriage Inspectors have bluntly told him to take the decorations down. 7th December 1988"
