Lowden Guitars In Bangor Co Down Northern Ireland Nov 99A trained eye of a worker examines the construction of the box prior to joining the top and bottom. George Lowden showed the first signs of genius when he was just 10. In 1961, with help from a Co Down postmaster, he made his first guitar out of hardboard, with nails for frets and fishing line for string. Now, he is chairman of Lowden Guitars, a company which is celebrating a quarter of a century in business, making one of the best guitars in the world.
