Manchester Airport, Spain
113 Escape as Nosewheel Fails on Holiday Jet: The nightmare that haunts every airline passenger came true for a planeload of holidaymakers returning from Spain on Saturday (19-5-73). The undercarriage failed as the jet, a Dan-Air Comet with 113 passengers and crew, was on its way to Manchester Airport. Happy landing! A rescue helicopter hovers over the crippled airliner, its emergency exit chutes still trailing to the ground. May 1973 P004423
