Maryhill Road Glasgow, Officer, Adrian McGill
Fire at Maryhill Road Glasgow. Fire breaks out in an unoccupied furniture shop spreading along the row of shops and trapping some families in their homes above. Fifty families were made homeless and one woman and one Fire Officer lost their lives. Saturday, 18th November 1972. Fire Officer Adrian McGill is rushed to a waiting ambulance after attempting to rescue a woman trapped in the building, but later lost his life.
