British Open 1976. The 1976 Britiish Open Golf Championships being held at the Royal Birkdale Gold Club. Golfer Seve Ballesteros pictured 10th July 1976.Also pictured (wearing hat) Maurice Flitcroft from Barrow, a british amateur golfer & hoaxer. Maurice posed as a professional golfer at the 1976 Open and managed to gain a place to play in the qualifying round of the championships. His duplicity was easily uncovered when he carded 49 over par (121), the worst score in the tournaments hsitory.
