A Dan-Air British Aircraft Corporation One-Eleven, (BAC-111, or BAC 1-11), was a British short-range jet airliner. This particular aircraft was named 'City of Newcastle' in a ceremony at Newcastle Airport on the 28th October, 1976. Picture shows :- General manager of Scheduled Services Division, Mr John Varrier, with the Lord Mayor of Newcastle Mr Hugh White and Lady Mayoress Mrs White with airline receptionists Christine Walker and Christine Dowey.
