Olive Lightley, Ian
The hills are alive with the sound of . . . well not quite as Olive Lightley's pained expression shows on 15th January 1980. Her brother-in-law Ian is a member of one of the saddest 'Sally Army' bands around - and his tally euphonium plays the most melancholy tune of all. His is the worst instrument in the 28-piece Bedlington band and all the others are patched up, ancient and in need of repair
