Porthcothan Bay Cornwall, 1950'sHoliday Makers dig a trech in the sand to stop cars from being driven on to the beach. The trench was 150 yards long and 2 feet deep, once it was completed sea water was diverted into it to stop the cars. One bridge wide enough for prams was put across the trench.cars in the backgroung are prevented from driving on to the beach.
