Princess Anne, Princess Margaret, Royal Yacht Britannia, Prince Philip, London Airport
It was a wind-and-the-rain send off for Prince Philip when he left London Airport for his world tour. The Queen and Princess Anne held on to their hats as the wind blew, but the Duke carried his in his hand and walked bareheaded to the Comet IV Jet liner which was waiting to take him to India. Princess Margaret follows under an umbrella. The Duke will cover 19,700 miles by air and 16,300 miles on the Royal Yacht Britannia, which he will board at Rangoon. he will be away for three months. 20th January 1959.
