Climbing up a perilous wind swept ladder into the golden ball on the church tower of St Lawrence, at West Wycombe, Bucks. Within the ball which seats twelve persons, the Madmepham Club later known as the Hell Fire Club used to hold meetings, tradition has it, on wild and stormy nights.
