World War II P.O.W.'s: Rifleman John West, a prisoner-of-war repatriated from Germany, arrived home at Bridforth Place, Hoxton, today Sunday and the East Enders gave him a welcome home. He brought with him a pal, Rifleman J. Salsey of the K.R.R. Johny comes home under the bunting, congratulated by all the street. October 1943 P011637
