Rodney Berman, loses his seat after a recount at Pentwyn Leisure Centre. *I ALWAYS wondered why Rodney Berman wanted to be a council leader. The leader???s office in County Hall is on a corner of the fifth floor, with views over the East Bute Dock on one side and the city centre skyline on the other. It???s no plush bankers??? palace but, as offices at County Hall go, it???s as good as it gets. The thing is, when you sat as a journalist at the office???s long boardroom table interviewing the council leader, you never had the sense that he revelled in the office or enjoyed being the most important man in the building. 4th, May, 2012.
