South West Cornwall, Christmas
German soldiers in a POW camp in South West Cornwall are making lovely toys for free distribution at Christmas time to orphan children of servicemen, and children whose fathers have been disabled in the war. Made from empty tins, scrap wood and nails, the Germans voluntarily work on toymaking in their spare time, using the crudest of tools. November 1945 P011630
