Southern Cross, Kingsford Smith, San Fransico, New York, Ireland
Flying from Ireland to U.S.A. At dawn (June 24th) Major Kingsford Smith, the famous Australian airman, took off in the Southern Cross, from Portmarnock near Dublin with three companions, hoping to reach New York this evening. If all goes well he intends to proceed to San Fransico, and son complete a round-the-world flight in his famous monoplane. The Southern Cross surrounded by a crowd before the start. June 1930P001033
