Teesside Airport, Teesside, Darlington, Pall Mall., Durham
More than a week after floods brought chaos and devastation to Teesside and Durham the evidence was is starkly vivid. Flooded fields, closed minor roads, half-submerged fences and waterlogged clusters of trees are still the order of the day. This scene near Darlington is one which a group of North flyers have seen each and every day since the floods came down. The five man Rothmans team, the country's top civilian formation acrobatic team, who operate their Pitts Special aircraft from Teesside Airport, were due to start a mammoth UK tour later in the month to promote sponsors, Rothmans of Pall Mall. 06/04/1979
