Vanessa Redgrave, Reg Prentice, Revolutionary Party, Newham, East London
Actress Vanessa Redgrave, a candidate for the Workers' Revolutionary Party, was busy canvassing for support in her Newham North-East constituency in East London on Thursday. But she evidently failed to charm the electorate. When the result of the poll was announced Labour shadow minister Reg Prentice won with 24,200 votes and a majority of 13,331. Vanessa's total was 760. February 1974 P018750
